Bad bearings maybe?

Ok so a friend of mine asked me to change the belt that had shredded on his tractor. I found the puly separated, the belt jammed in it and just by chance I spun the blade and it sounds like the bearings are bad to me, kinda sound sandy. Should he get a new mandrel or does it sound good to you? Suggestions?

I would suggest a new spindle looks like an AYP spindle a lot of dealerships have those really cheep right now, lots of good prices to be had on them at local dealers.
