I just added weather to my site it's free and it may keep people on my site longer and google cares about that.

That is an interesting topic. I do wonder how much such a plug in helps improve your search engine rankings.

My understanding of one of the millions of things google looks at is how long people spend on your site. So from google to YourSite.com back to google. If their spending short amount of time then you site must not be very good and drags your rank down. Having things like photos, videos... help make people stay longer.

I had the weather on my site for years. It was only for me and I'm the only one that even noticed it but I found it useful. Especially the barometric pressure.

Weather channel changed their terms of service and wanted me to pay to use it so I dumped them. I'm going to work on something with wunderground.org or noaa.gov
