WHat do you guys use for your domain hosting? I'm looking for something cheap. Nothing fancy. I currently use the free Microsoft Small Business, but they are converting to Microsoft 365 which is going to cost me. Does anyone use or heard of a free domain? I know it will say something like blahblahblah.microsoft.com but that's still fine with me...

I noticed on the "why ipage" tab on their site it said: custom domain - 1 Year.
What does that mean? Do you not get to create your own domain???
Other than that, I love it! 3.95/month is really cheap!

I paid 2.95 per month (billed 70.80 for 24 months) on sale and got to pick my domain name with that willslawns.com (http://willslawns.com)
I got two years because the sale was real good but could have got one year
BTW working on the site works best using Firefox

Look at some web hosting review sites. If nothing else, you may find special deals that aren't listed on the hosting site.
I use Bluehost (http://www.bluehost.com/) and couldn't be happier with their customer service. They have bent over backwards to help me with any issue I've had (mostly because I'm a dumbass when it comes to web stuff). I'd give them a 12 out of 10 for customer support.
If you have a question, you can call OR chat with a person right here in the USA. (Utah, if I recall correctly)
I got my hosting for around $3/mo when they had a special and that includes a domain name free.
I can understand the desire for a "free" website, but you look like a hack without a .com at the end. Get a real website - it's going to cost less than just about every other piece of equipment you're going to need.

never thought about it that way. That just persuaded me to pay for hosting...

has anyone heard or used 1and1? 1and1.com I found it on a post in here form 2009. Looked like they guy was just trying to start this hosting site. Now that I think about it, I actually heard an ad for that site on the radio a couple weeks ago. They seem fairly cheap (3.49/month) and the domains are only 99 cents/year if I get .info
@CHEESE - do you ever find that you loose some of your business because you have a .biz domain?
I just want to make the right choice because websites can act as the finishing touch to a small business

When choosing, don't just base it on price.
Decide if you will be creating your own site, and if so, do they offer templates and such that you understand how to use.
I made the mistake of deciding to make my own website. I have many years of print advertising experience, but none in web design and I realize now that I should have coughed up the dough and paid someone to set it up for me.
I've had all winter to finish my website, but just can't bring myself to do it - it makes my head hurt.
