My company needs some Identity. I have been a LCO for about 11 years. Three years ago I added stump grinding to my list of services. This year I purchased a tractor and some attachments and have become state certified in landscaping.
I need a name and a logo that will represent my company. This will be used on everything. Trucks, shirts, caps, jackets, letterhead, invoices, etc.
I have never advertised (Paid advertising) my lawn care biz but I think its time for a change. I want to incorporate all aspects of my services into this identity if possible.
I started out years ago with "Quality Lawn Service"
I then went to "Sherrill's Stump Removal Service"
Then it was "Sherrill's Stump & Lawn Service"
Now it is "Sherrill's Stump, Lawn & Landscape"
I recently had shirts printed with Sherrill's Stump, Lawn and landscape as my company name and its just generic looking.
I would like a symbol based logo. If I put just that symbol on something, people would know that it stood for My Company.
Before I offer a reward...can you guys work with that.
I am very open minded to change...........

This is a very talented group of designers, if you have a mental idea of what you want or you can direct them as they place updates, I am sure you will be happy with the results. The biggest key to getting what you want in your design is to remember that you take on the role of artistic director and utilize their abilities to get what you want.

That is good. I think more abstract with a ez read font.
I like what lawngodfather chose for his logo. I like anything nature and simple. Tree-grass-sun-leaf-landscape with earthtone colors.
Some of my past door sign photos. I would like to represent all parts of my biz into one logo. If thats possible.
Nice logo with the stump & cutter wheel but not what I'm after. I want people to know that I do more than stumps.

I want change from this.

I like the direction of 256 & 257.
256 looks like breast( change leaf ). Maybe a tree or some grass or just off the wall abstract.
I want the entire company identity to be based on this logo.

258 & 262 no.
259, 260 (favorite at this point) and 261 is good concept.
266 change the black.

191 one color font on sherrill's and add stump, lawn & landscape somewhere and let me see.
192 change boat prop looking symbol and different sherrill's font
193 I like the sun symbol type. Diff sherrill's font and a more realistic grass.
My truck is white. My shirts will have to go with new logo. Maybe green or yellow or gray.

#259 the green in yellow half circle. Dark yellow at the bottom and fading out to white like a sun with the grass symbol and all wording inside the sun symbol.
anything after the last truck image is a big no.
more abstract symbol that will work on white truck, t-shirts (color will match logo) caps (matching shirts), letterhead and biz cards.
I'm trying to picture some of the logos on a t-shirt. (what color ?)
the first set of designs from each are a good start.
I'm open to any colors.
thanks...its looking good.

X-ray, Could you darken the green on my logo to bit. I tried to do this but I don't have the software for this task. I would also like a higher res image.
01-09-2004, 06:04 AM
Thank you. I am all set now.
I will post some picks as soon as I get everything made.

We are looking forwards to seeing this. Send us pics!

Everything is almost done.
T shirts being screened right now, polo's, dress shirts and caps being sewn with new logo, meeting with yellow page ad rep thursday to completely redo all ads.
That brings me to this point. My truck lettering. The guy doing my lettering is also doing my t-shirts. No problem with the t-shirts. He is having some trouble with the fonts on the truck lettering part. Can you (this is his exact words and said you would understand this lingo) Change the "type to create outlines" so my sign guy can make this logo exactly as you have it.
X-ray I'm sorry dude, to be a pain in the rear. Its all got to be the same or lose the effectiveness.
The guy doing the sign is Custom Sign & Screen Printing
He has all three files. First two and the higher res one.

You are not a pain in the least. We are here to serve you. I personally can't wait to see your pics once this is done. I will have this taken care of.
