I worked a little this morning and installed some sample sites/templates. They are not industry specific but there are 14 different samples to look at and they are not wordpress sites.

This page has a link to all the samples.

A few of them are not for lawn care but on the other hand what kind of image do you want to present?

When you look at a design you have to look beyond the content and look at the design. For instance with a few changes of the content #8 would also make a good lawn care site. So would #1.

Change a few photos and change some colors around and you have a great looking site.

There is a 4 page minimum.

Pages 1-5 $70 each
Pages 6-10 $60 each
Pages 10 and up Call for Quote.

Little 5 page mini site for smart phones around $75 (Working on a demo for that, should be online tomorrow evening.)

So with this, your site would be something like www.bigjimslawncare.com and the mobile version would be mobi.bigjimslawncare.com no sense is buying the .mobi domain when you can make a subdomain.

This is NOT for ecommerce sites or those pages where you have to scroll for a week to get to the bottom of. Average page is anywhere between 300 and 500 words with some pages nearing 1k. There are other page types that fall under the multiple page category like the ones you see with multiple tabs etc.

I think you are looking for a little more advanced then a program like wix.com can do. To have a pop out picture you need to look at wordpress or joomla with a template you can use. you would need php or java scripting to do it. Otherwise you would have to do the code yourself.

Not exactly the same but it is a photo gallery.

The problem with most, if not all, of the free website builders is that they have limits placed on them. My very first site was a google site and it was pretty good for what it was but it too had it's limits. For instance, I could not put a paypal button on the site at all as they wanted you to use Google checkout.

You have to use their templates and there is no way to manipulate the HTML code if you need to on most of them.

Wix in particular I have a problem with because of the crap they put in front of your web site that slows down the loading.

Ok the Mobile is available now

http://xtremeseoconsulting.com/ss15/mobile2

Check it out from your phones.

Nothing real fancy, just formatted for the mobile phone screen. Working on a script that will take you to the mobile version automatically if you are on a phone or the full site from a computer.....

It very well could be. There are so many ways to do a photo gallery.

My personal preference is wordpress, wonderful platform for displaying your work.

If it is a new site it can take up to a week. If it is a redo of an existing site usually one or 2 days. This is because most of the content is already written on the old site. I don't have to search and rewrite it from scratch.

The last one I did was HorizonStainandSeal.com, that one I did in 4 days.

A lot of sites use wordpress as it is easier to setup then some others I just like Joomla as it is more powerful then wordpress. But I am also going away from that for more online store capibilities with Magento. I think the only thing about Joomla and Wordpress is they seo that people do not seem to do right.

I am in the process of custom designing wordpress themes and learning how to work Drupal. I heard it was better than Joomla and harder to learn. I have looked at both and I am finding Drupal not bad at all.

I disagree with the fact Drupal is more powerful they are both PHP and database sites with modules. But I would also say it is just as good as Joomla, and it does do seo out of the box where joomla you have to install modules and configure it to do well on google search. Joomla has ssl and I needed that to take credit cards at the time. I have since just gone to paypal and google checkout for simplicity.
