I came across a site that explains how to do a Fan page on your facebook profiles.

http://www.ideamarketers.com/?FBML_facebook_design_tutorial&articleid=1023867

It is very helpful. It explains how to use FBML on facebook.

Important to note, any FBML pic size setting can not be any larger than 600px X 520px

I have been monkeying around with mine for some time. Now it is finished. You can even suggest the page to friends at the bottom. Not perfect but it works.

Check it out http://www.facebook.com/DeckStainingTips

After you click on the LIKE button at the top then the blue banner will change to say thank you. If you are already a fan then you will need to click on the "Like Us" tab at the top.

Wow. So confused.

Can anyone tell me if I need to have a personal profile (not interested at ALL in creating one) in order to create a "whatever" for my business? (I don't know if that would be called a "profile" or a "fan page" - Sigh. I feel old.)

Yes you do need a personal profile before you can create the pages. Make a fake one if you have to.

Thanks.

since this forum is slow to get replies, I posted on another forum I frequent and asked about Facebook. I am putting Facebook on hold until I understand it better. Going to focus on getting a website up first.

Has anyone tracked their new customer calls and seen if any new customers come from facebook?

Check out the new landing page for Organic Lawn Tips.com (http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=177574802263781)

Steve, I don't know that it is so much a lead generator as it is good for SEO.

Is there a difference between a "Fan Page" and a business page?

Are all of you able to see mine?

I see your page but I don't know if its the Fan page or not.

The name fan page came about because there used to be a button called "Become a Fan" which has since changed to Like. There is no difference.
