So a few years ago me and a buddy had a landscaping business with lawn maintanence. We had ran it for three years and were quite successful. Well he quit and i wasn't prepared to work it myself at that time in my life, so i went back into the rat race and started back at retail. well after a few years of working for someone else and having nothing to show for it i start wondering......why? So i decided to go back to what i know and love. When we had our business we had a name and log and where legit.

our old logo

that was our logo. well times have changed and i want to start off alot more professional then what i had. i want to be know as a company, not just some yard guy so i came up with new logo theme and advertisement. Let me know what you guys think.

honestly..i dont like the idea..
it would be too hard to market IMO
some time if car vinyl came into play..you have to find a vinyl printer and UV fades that pretty fast so you would need to redo your vinyl every couple years..

with that many details and colors printing for your marketing will be more expensive

and again im not trying to be rude..but i just think it would be too difficult..you dont have a memorable or eye catching logo either IMO if i saw that on a yard sign id probably just keep driving..

again..this is just me
im sure everyone will have a different view on it

if you decide to change a logo or something i do graphics design for free and i could give you some of my ideas..

I like the frog as it really stands out and it is pretty cool to have a frog as your mascot. I think if I saw that advertisement that it would turn my eye. Not sure if a frog goes with lawn care, but who cares...it is different and that might work.

I do have to agree with jklawncare with cost of printing. With those vibrant colors marketing will be expensive. Will also be expensive to put those colors on tshirts, etc...

I am kind of neutral to the idea. I do like your old name Klean Kutz but Ribbit is good. The graphic and new logo is different which is very good. As far as printing and color and what the other guys said they are right, but here is my thought "COLOR" does pop, people love it, and you need to put money into marketing so if it does cost more I think it would be worth it. (Part of my regular job is printing).

Paint your whole truck the frog and everybody would turn their heads and always remember that frog lawn care truck running all around town... and remember "Dream it, Build it, Go for it". I hope I got that right, Steve.

Also whoever did your graphics did a great job real clean, HOWEVER-as the wife pointed out, "maintenance" is spelled wrong.

When I started, I needed a logo BAD... I think I have a good name so I just typed it with some fonts. Oh well, some day I will get a better one.

mmm...

Your frog should be 'drawn in' kind of like a vector graphic image with no pixels showing.

I can see the crop around it.

It's very hard to turn an image into a vector - though it can be completely traced into one.

I have the program for it, I would be willing to give it a shot.

I think it is a fun name and could be really played up in your marketing.

For instance, imagine if your uniform was green in color and you wore a frog hat.

If you do a search for them, there are many. From more sedate to outrageous. Here is an outrageous one.

You could also paint your truck a green frog color as well.

Thanks to all for your replies.

1. First off I did all the graphics myself with photoshop, first time I have ever used photoshop or did any graphics designing...so appreciate the comments

2. When you say I couldn't get the frog out of your head then that's exactly what I was tring to do.

3. Thanks for noticing that maintenance was wrong it will be corrected

4. LOVE the slogan lol very clever and funny

So far everyone i've asked prefers the new image and name so looks like I'm headed in the right direction. I know the marketing will be a bit more but from the responses I believe that it will be well worth it.

Thanks again

I dont really see how the frog will go with your landscaping. A lot of women in the world have a fear of frogs and all things "slimy." You seem to be aiming for a younger demographic. Most people i service are either retired or single mothers it seems. Not many families and if it is a couple, they dont have any children.

Your logo will need to talk to people and tell them what you do, i see a frog and i think you work for a zoo.

You could also dress as a frog and push a mower in your local parade. That might get you attention.

So apparently frogs is a big thing in landscaping company logos. Look at this link that has a list of logos that Plan-It Graphics made...

What about a frog on some grass? Would that be better for a logo?

smal tree trimming is spelled wrong, other than that it has an eye catching look to it. If you have a website you should list it as well. Be sure to write a paragraph or two with a list of your services and the towns names so that your ad is searchable. Most people will write in the town and what they are looking for in searches. Less will type in zipcodes, but include them in the list after the ad. Nice job on the design.

Great job on the ad!!

Thanks for catch on the misspelling, i must have looked at this ad 20 times and still never noticed it. I don't have a website yet, I will be getting one up and running by mid january though. I will be putting the address on each ad rather then my email, I really put my email on each just to secure a spot for the website.

Thanks for the encouragement guys, appreciate the help

Love the ad! Good stuff! I think that will really catch people's eye.

A couple of things to point out about your quote at the end...

You have quotations at the beginning and not the end. Also not sure if you mean to do it, but you have one exclamation point after the first sentence and two after the second. Might want to remain consistent on that.

Other than that...GREAT STUFF!

That looks great! I bet if you took out the blue background, you could print that on paper and use it as a flyer to go door to door with!
