Here is an interesting story about Lori Battaglia. She had worked with her husband in their landscaping business and then sold it. Then she bought a gift basket store.

Do you think this is something you or your wife would enjoy running?

Lori Battaglia, owner of Boca Gift Baskets (http://www.palmbeachpost.com/business/content/business/epaper/2006/11/13/a9bz_movingup_1113.html) - Lori Battaglia, whose company meticulously assembles an average of 2,200 gift baskets a year, received special recognition for her work this year.

Battaglia, owner of Boca Gift Baskets, earned a place of honor on America's Top 100 Gift Basket Business List, compiled by Gift Basket Review magazine. The magazine also ranked her on the Top 50 list of gift basket revenue producers and the Fast 50 list of fastest-growing gift basket businesses.

Battaglia, who previously worked with her husband, Brian, in their landscaping business, took over Boca Gift Baskets five years ago when the couple sold that business and her husband began selling real estate.

"I was looking for something to do on my own, and we found an existing gift basket business for sale," she said. It was a good fit, she said, because she enjoys working with gourmet food and being creative. She's also very organized, which is a huge plus.

The store's previous owner taught her the skills, and since then she's trained 10 people so they can help her during busy seasons, especially around Christmas.

"When we bought the business, we saw the growing potential," she said. "The business was located above a florist shop, but there was no sign and no customer history."
