Im trying to design some new door hangers
theyll be printed on some colored paper in black and white
maybe color..not sure yet
i need something thats apealing in just black and with color
i cant decide what to do
its going to be completely based towards fall cleanups
i want to include that ill come back a second time if needed for only 10$
and i want to include they start at 20$
im on a huge time crunch leaves are beginning to fall (started late this year) and i need to get these out
im gonna be printing them at a kinkos or my library for 5c a sheet
so if i 1000 flyers i only have to print 500 and it will only cost 25$
could you guys post what your using? maybe some ideas to help me out and ill post a bunch of templates filled in and not so you can use them too
lets work together

Heres a blank template for door hangers
at 100% its 8.5 x 11"
its dashed in the middle to show where to cut and where your boundaries are
and the hole is 1 inch
i use a 1 1/2" hole punch
it is perfectly symetrical

Looks good but personally move the $ back to the left.
I don't use door hangers my self. If I do not like someone hanging stuff on my door, I surely will not do that to others. Just my personal feelings on door to door but it works well for many.

You want to stand out from everyone else that is doing the same thing. How about something like this?

hahaha i might consider something like that
i just dont want to lose the professional aspect of it
plus
printing in color might not be in my best interest

Remember that just because you add humor does not mean that you loose professionalism. It is how you add that humor that matters.
I don't know what you are using to create the hanger but I did that one in just a few minutes with Open Office Impress which is like powerpoint only FREE!
Some things to keep in mind are the fonts... Keep them simple and easy to read like Times new Roman, Veranda or Aerial. You can use a goofy font for one thing that you want to emphasize but not an entire design.
Remember if it looks cheap that is what people will think of you.
Now you asked so her it is. Personally I don't like either one. Maybe it is the font that is throwing me off. I can't put my finger on it.

Now that I look at it more, it IS the font that is throwing me off.

and ill change the fonts
what font are you reffering to? the main italicized font or the money font

The entire thing.
You need to use one of these fonts as they are easier on the eyes
Times
Aerial
Veranda
It may look cool but it is otherwise very hard to read. Confuses the eyes so to speak.
Come on guys help the kid out and give your suggestions. I can't be the only one with an opinion. LOL
Definitely stay away from the font in your logo. It is ok for the logo but too much for a document.
Print them out and have your folks look at them. Don't tell them to pick the best one just ask them to tell you their first impression. First impressions ONLY! That is what counts. Don't let them have time to think about it. Less than 15 seconds are enough to get the impression and what a potential customer will react like. If they say something is wrong but they can not put their finger on it then trash that design because your customer will feel the same way. Normally you have less than 5 seconds to impress someone enough to make them curious.
I think that is the key, peak their curiosity and they will read on. First 2 lines is all you will get most likely. Ask a question or shock them into reading more.
Don't ask something like "Is your yard full of leaves?" Duh does a bear......
Maybe something like
Football or Leaves
Which do you want to do?

All valid points made above. No need for me to type the same thing. :)

If you are going to go with printing them in color and you will be doing your own printing, make sure you set the print preference to draft, that way you will get many more copies and the difference is not that bad. Don't feel that you will need to be at normal printing mode.
