Man this project is taking a long time as we have to work around so many other trades people but it's getting there...

Oh that is very interesting! It looks like you created a way for the water as it runs down from the woods to then flow around the house versus right into it.

Is that correct? Was there anything placed below the stones or will that suffice to re-direct the water?

Grading around here, due to the clay in the soil, is critical and I look at the long term solution.

Below the stone, 2 feet down is sock wrapped drain tile, covered with 1" clear stone, covered with 20 year fabric, covered with river rock.

Very interesting! In such a situation, how important is it to build up some kind of berm to force any water that overflows, down the path of the rocks, versus over and down the hill?
