I will be 18 in October. I Am looking very forward to getting my truck paid off. Or atleast until i found out how much freaking car insurance is. I have Tennessee Farm Bureau. My plan for full coverage on my 07 Ranger is $1200 for 6 months. Now for liability only its $500. Now that doesn't include the $12 a month for my trailer. I want to go Legit but dang i don't make that much money! It has taken me all summer to save up my $900 taht i have now. THats working 2 jobs. But then again i have had a lot of set backs like new tires and a new air conditioner compressor. Thats coming out right around 1500. I am very cheap and hate spending money. LOL I was wondering who all you guys have insurance through and if you have commercial insurance. my insurance company doesn't offer commercial insurance right now. I would like to be able to do lawn spraying every know and then but accoriding to tennessee i think you have to have like 30,000 50,000 and 100,000 in insurance in order to be eligble for applicators permit. Do any of you guys have insurance like this? id really like to know who you have company wise and how much it is. sorry for all the typos my computer died recently and this is A NEW one that i am not quite used to yet. Oh ya and those insurance numbers are after my 18 year old discount.

Im kinda in the same boat as you. I dont quite make enough to pay for everything to be insured commercially. My truck is in my name anyways so its insured under me. There is a risk though... you can be denied your claim using it as a work truck. But seeing how its like 3x the cost to insure my truck commercially I have to take the risk for now.

As for general liability insurance get the 1 mil policy. If you plan on doing any commercial work thats what they want to so really anything less is a waist. My policy is $750 a year witch is min in AZ, ive heard as low as 500 in some states. So just look around. Call your current agency they always have people they kik work to that would do the commercial stuff.

Hope that helped.....

ya i have heard that from a few people and on the forum. Its a risk i am going to have to take. though i work 2 jobs now i am still in high school i can't get full time. The general liability insurance is a lot cheaper than i thought! Do you know of any companies that do it. like i have no idea what to even search for.

I'm interested in this too. What kind of insurance do you owners out there have?

I'm more concerned with liability insurance in case of an accident or lawsuits...

Thanks,

Thanks,

My company carries two million, I pretty much have to do this in order to bid any commercial jobs plus I am on a standby list in the winter for the city, we do loader work for pushing banks back of loading snow into trucks to be hauled away.

All equipment is insured as are vehicles and trailers, all in I pay around three grand a year, and that is with a 30+ perfect driving record and never a claim even on my homeowners insurance. All my vehicles/trailers/equipment with wheels and or tracks has GPS motion activated tracking.

Is that 2 mill aggregate? Cause its the same for me then. How much is the GPS motion thing never looked into it but would be worth the investment in my eyes.?

Yes it is aggregate.

I honestly do not know what the GPS costs are as I own part of the company that has the rights to the product and we only wholesale, other issue is it can only be used in Canada due to wireless rules.

I just looked up a few that I am familiar with on your side of the border

If you have any questions, I can no doubt answer them, my other company went from no experience to the largest in Canada in 8 years, has around 450 employees.

I just turned 25!! so my insurance is only $50 a month on my truck finally..

I have 2 million aggregate 1 million per claim, fully insured for tree removal, landscaping, and landscape maintenance : $960.50 per year.

Keep in mind i have on the book records of 9 years in the tree removal industry, with 7 of those climbing/foreman, and that might help me get a little cheaper tree removal ins., i dont know.

I know it depends on how many employees you have in FLorida, not sure about anywhere else.

I have me and 1 full time employee covered. If i went with 2 employees, it was like an additional 200$

good luck, oh for me to get 1 million in just landscape maintenace,(lawn mowing) was 650ish for the year.

So you might be around that mark, and you can try progressive or some of the major brands, aflak, state farm, etc.. Oh maybe geiko..

oh man that will be the day! i know when my mom put me on her insurance it made her and my dads triple! I don't do to much with trees. I did cut one down but it was with the owner. He was telling me how to do it since he knew i was just getting started. It was a family friend. would be nice to have though. What part of Florida are you from? I was born in kissimmee.

'I have 2 million aggregate 1 million per claim"

what does that mean exactly? what is the insurance called? is it comercial insurance?

yeah its commercial insurance otherwise also called business liability insurance. It seems that a 1M dollar policy is standard -don't get anything less. Don't hold me to this but expect to pay around $500 a year to be covered. This varies wildly and depends on what the specific terms that you agree to.
