Not slacking, yesterday I worked on a wood cutting job, OMG I am sore, I put 9 tanks of fuel through a Stihl 361, our company record was 7 set by my son two weeks ago but I am paying for it today, three staff chipped, client who has experience cutting as he grew up on a farm said, Andy you are an animal with a chain saw, I have never seen anyone who could cut that many trees in a day, and we are talking some pretty big spruce that simply had to go, I would guess 50 of them were 12 to 20" across the butt, we just cut it into pulp size so that he can sell it and get some of his money back.

Anyhow this weekend is a clean up from another excavation company job for a let's say a Green friend that does some floating for me after his work hours with his own own truck and my trailers, happens to live within 5 min of my place, excavation company left them one heck of a mess and they simply do not have the cash to clean this up as it's a massive job.

He is going to drive my 3320 seeings how he has experience and lots of it and I will use the 27, really a job for my 50 excavator but she is too far away.

Cover my fuel costs, food and maybe one cold one at the end of the day is the cost to them.

First thing we are doing is a 350 foot drain as theirs was not done properly, isn't working and basically their back yard is like soup, then the excavation company piled about 8 truck loads of fill in the back yard and left it, no idea what the plan was, massive rocks spread everywhere, in short their kids have no area to play and it looks really bad, super couple with four young kids and we all know how tight money can be starting out.

Now I haven't seen the site for about two months so I can't really give more details however I will take before and after pics, we will pound a 16 hour say today starting at 7, the 27 has four aux lights and it is amazing in the dark and see if we can't get this done by the end of fathers day tomorrow.

I am pretty tight with him and his wife and not because he works at a Green store, they are like most people I come across super, super nice people and he does anything I need done anytime so this to me is a very small thank you, have the gear so let's do it. Kids he tells me are super excited knowing a back yard play area for them and the dog is about to happen.

If by the end of the day it doesn't look like I can get it done, I have two staff on standby and will bring in a 3520 and a 35D, with four machines it would go super fast.

Well 12 hours later and I would guess we are 70 percent completed:

Chris, the owner and Green friend drove the 3320, tires are loaded no room for a ballast box and not really required with this tractor.

The project is to dig a proper drain 350 feet long, put a layer of 1" clear stone, 4" sock wrapped Big O pipe, cover to 6" over the pipe on the driveway wide and to surface in the back, to surface as there is a massive back hill behind his house causing the issue, drop the grade in the back yard so it's flat for their kids to play in, top soil and sod.

It is a pipe that is 4" across, full of perforations to let water in then pre covered with a 25 year fabric to keep silt out, the issue is being created by a new subdivision three years ago in back, they changed the natural flow of water so it if or was running into his back yard and into the house, we stopped it with this drain, the back yard was dry already, they said the first time in over three years and that was just from overnight.

That is amazing how much new construction in the area can effect drainage. It does make you wonder if the new construction could be liable to pay for such drainage problems they create.
