Here is a unique marketing angle I don't think we have discussed on here yet. Positioning your company as one who works with indigenous plants. Especially when working on properties the size of 5 to 10 acres.

Dan the vice president of the company said “I've been with Earth Source since 1990, and one of the things that attracted me to them was that they were a pioneer in the sustainable landscape area, utilizing indigenous plants - shrubs, trees, flowers and grasses - that are all adapted to this area for your whole outdoor space,” Ernst said. “And the biggest change I've seen since I came here is that we are seeing more people wanting to do it this way, with more people coming to us and asking about it. A lot of our larger clients have purchased five or 10 acres and have been mowing that land,” Ernst said. “But as fuel costs go up, they're now looking for different ways to maintain that landscape without the mowing.”

Have you seen this direction taking place in your area?

DO you think this is a good idea?

Back to earth, Landscaper specializes in indigenous plants (http://www.fwdailynews.com/articles/2006/07/17/greater_fort_wayne/news/business14.txt) - Sometimes Mother Nature really does know best. A growing trend with property owners today, particularly those with acreage to care for, is to work with native plants for landscaping projects, according to Dan Ernst, vice president of Earth Source Inc.

In business since 1987, Earth Source offers services in planning, planting and cultivating sustainable landscaping.
