I ordered this yesterday afternoon. March 10, 2010.

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m25/mad_insane/truckmagnet.jpg

I chose the slow delivery option (21 days)

Premium Large Car Door Magnet : $19.49
Subtotal : $19.49
Shipping & Processing : $7.90
GST : $1.37
Total : $28.76

Arrival Date (Est): 31/03/2010 (March 31'st, 2010)

I will let you all know when I receive the magnet.

I know Vistaprint impressed me in the past, I always choose the slow delivery option & I have never had to wait more than a couple of days.

If it comes earlier than expected, we will all know to click the slow delivery option. :)

I'm hoping this magnet will look decent on my truck.

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m25/mad_insane/Ford.jpg

Wish me luck!

I will post pictures on how the magnet comes packaged, etc. I will show all of you the real thing, & how I am able to use it.

Hey guys I can make those for you!
I operate a sign shop on the side of my lawn business.
Have you ever thought of doing vinyl on your trucks? It lasts way longer and looks more professional and is more cost effective.

I will put up some photos of my trucks and give some prices for all of you.

Got a website & some testimonials?

One of the members was scammed not too long ago from someone offering a service on this forum.

I'd love to see some pics. Vinyl looks 100 times better, I agree.

Just worried about the transaction.

I understand your concern, I do not have a site up yet since I have just built 3 sites for my lawn service marketing this winter. I do have a site in the works as we speak and that will be up soon enough.

The sites I have finished for my lawn service are
mnlawnservice.com
flattoplawnservice.com
hugolawn.com

I have been really busy getting the seo done on them to be on top by spring which I have done.

If you are worried about a transaction I would be willing to work something out with you. I will prove I am trustworthy by shipping first then payment.
This way I put the trust on you for now.

I want to prove myself, my work and passion for lawn service marketing.

How big is your sign you ordered? 18x24? I can make that in vinyl for you for the same price as a magnet.

Magnets are ok but they tend to fly off and scratch your vehicle if you are not careful.

My vinyl is oracle 651 and lasts 7 years outdoors.

Please consider me for future signage.

SeanCody how much for my logo (one color RED) 16&3/4" x 48" might need to go a bit narrower it the aspect ratio is too bad.

What kind of truck do you have? What year? What Color?
Have you measured where you want it? Do you have your logo in vector format?
If not I can create it in vector for you. Vector files are usually adobe illustrator.

If you could send me your logo at flattoplawnservice@yahoo.com
I can get this design mocked up on your truck tonight.

Sean,

Do you have car and truck templates?

Like for a 1994 Dodge Dakota ext cab? So I can do my design before I paint it on?

like this

I guess it's no good to remove it every day either... Hmmm.

Well, I'll look into Vinyl.

I use a side view of whatever truck you have and design it from that and your measurements.

Just do a google images search for your truck and find a good side view preferably same color as yours.

cool cool

I was thinking about diagonal real big on the side of the truck, but the standard cab doesn't give you much room. I had an F250 back in the day lettered up like that it was nice.

Hey Seancody0,

651 is NOT a 7 yr vinyl, its 5-6 yrs in ideal conditions outdoors, and should only be used on flat surfaces.
(besides red, lasts less time)

If you or anyone else have any questions let me know, i dont mind.

Everything I have received from them, I have been impressed.

Business cards took 2 days to receive, even if I clicked the slow delivery option.

I only wanted 500 cards, but they threw a deal at me before I could finish making a payment. Very good deals. I ended up with 1000 or so cards for basically the same price.

As for the shirts I had received, fantastic stuff! They are the most comfortable shirts I own, & great for doing this sort of work. I received them within a week, I also chose the slow delivery option.

I just found Vistaprint while surfing the web for deals on business cards. Glad to hear that the products are good because their prices are low.

Here's a question for those here who make magnet and vinyl signs. Which holds up better in high heat (often 90 to 100+ F in Summer) and bright sun with high UV?

CHEESE2009

Well, Vistaprint emailed me to let me know they have just shipped my magnet.

Should arrive before or on the 30th' .. or something like that.

Which is still considered fast shipping, wow. Makes me wonder if they actually hold onto the product for a bit to tease you into paying for "fast" shipping the next time you purchase from them. I guess that money (fast shipping $) goes straight to them?! Scammish?

Maybe I'm just tired. Didn't sleep at all last night :P

I got some matte paper business cards from Vistaprint on one of the super discount offers.

Good things.
I ordered them on 4/7/10 and they arrived today 4/14/10 with slow shipping.

I also ordered a door magnet. Since it was a free offer I got it for image upload and shipping fees. It has been shipped so the slow shipping isn't always slow.

My fault and their fault.
They did not print as shown on the example on screen. I uploaded an image for the cards. They have a white border which I expected to be slightly thinner since some was outside of the cut lines but the ones produced had only two sides with a thin strip of border. A little trimming with scissors fixes that and they do look good borderless.

Their fault.
The print quality is ok. It is not bad but not great either. Although I gave them a 300 dpi image some pixelation is visible.

I have some that were printed on the smooth edged Avery business cards matte finish paper (about $6 for 80) with my friend's Epson printer. The colors and print quality are great with those. The ink is probably expensive since it is a home printer.

Conclusion.

I will use these cards.
For the price they are ok in print quality. I want better quality.
I won't buy any more cards from them. Instead I will print them myself with the Avery kit or get local pros to do it.
If you do use Vistaprint then use a full bleed (to the edge) design with plenty of expendable border or be careful with your design if you want a border.
