When to start marketing residential

My goal is to have my part-time business become my full time income this spring. I am going to start going to local smaller commercial locations this week(hopefully not already too late to get some), but I was hoping for some input on when to start marketing to potential residential customers. I don't want to start too early that they bare not thinking of this and forget or misplace my info. I also don't want to start too late that they re contract with their current landscaper or hire someone else. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I know we were talking in another post about the best time to get your residential marketing going, but as far as the commercial customers, most all of them are going to want proof of liability insurance.

Have you considered that? Have you gotten liability insurance to handle this?
