View Full Version : Vehicle Wraps

There is a couple of guys driving around Indianapolis that has one of those vehicle wraps on his dodge truck and the enclosed trailer, its literly a billboard on wheels. So seeing this I thought that this winter I'd price it for my trailer. My wife and I created two rough drafts. What do you guys think of these.

This one is my idea

You may consider vinyl lettering and save a ton of money.

I like the first one is good if you are going to a wrap, and the second one would be good for vinyl lettering!

LOOKS GOOD!!

I like the very colorful and eye catching designs. It will be interesting to see what the price bids are for vinyl vs wrapping.

Like Artie said, I think you could get away with vinyl.

Consider sending an email to tony@696signs.com and get a quote

He used to be very active on the forum here.

Well I sent in a quote for my drawing (the one with the house) and for a full wrap the cost would be $3900.00. Ofcourse that is just a rough estimate. They also said that my drawing could very easily be a partial wrap and that would be roughly $1900.00. I'm gonna talk vith a guy who has lettered my trucks for my other buisness and see what the price is for the other drawing.

I like the latest design. I would really cringe at paying for a full wrap! Yikes. I think you could get away with just using vinyl.

Having the trailer done up the way you did it would be so exciting!

akessinger84

Yes I just recieved a call from the guy that quoted the wrap and he asked if I liked the price. I told him that right now it is a little steep for my budget right now and that I'd probly go with vinyl instead. He came back with well we could just do the house and the lettering and then it would be about 1900.00 a little cheaper. I told him thanks but that I was waiting on a quote from other people and I'd be making my decision soon. But I kinda like the vinyl that I doodled on the photo of the trailer

Steve

Would it make it cheaper if you installed it yourself too? We have seen others do that on here before with good results.

to give you a fair estimate i will need to know how long and wide you want the stripes and the height of your text then on the back door give me the size of that then i can work something up for you

akessinger84
11-05-2009, 01:03 PM
The trailer is 7 ft wide and 16 ft tall the area to be vinyled on the side and rear is approx. 6.5 ft high as for the font size I'm not real sure. I want it to be large enough to be noticed going down the road, but not so redicuously large that its comical

I've laid vinyl before but it was very small like 4 inch font and maybe 5 foot long. it was also single layer, one color. I think i'll leave this job to the professionals.

Its a good rough draft but I dont like the black shadow behind the stripes or on the font.

akessinger84
11-06-2009, 05:30 PM
what would it look like if you took the black shadow away from the green and yellow stripe and then made the green shadow the yellow stripe?

I am new to this thread so please forgive me if my question has already been answered.

Before you spend a lot of money on your decals, are you sure you own the rights to www.KCS.com?

I just did some checking. A company out of Hong Kong owns this domain. Three letter domain names are quite hard to come by. If you attempt to buy this domain it will surely cost several thousand dollars to acquire or lease.

Again, I'm sorry for butting in but I don't want you to get your decal made and then realize you can't use that url.

Keith

Thank you Kieth, but had you read the entire thread you would have read that it is just a "mock-up" I said in the thread that I was in the process of finding a domain name.
